Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged down to 3.34% in May 2025, from 3.36% in the previous month, marking the lowest level since November 2000. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 1 thousand to 402 thousand, while total employment increased by 7 thousand to 11.623 million. The youth unemployment rate—which tracks job seekers aged 20 to 24—fell to a four-month low of 11.14%, from 11.30% in April. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate edged higher to 59.37% in May, compared to 59.34% in the previous month.
